“I became The Quay School English teacher in April 2012 after working for them on a supply basis for 6 months. I felt that I belonged in the TQS family where we enjoyed the challenge of working with vulnerable students across four sites. Now I am the curriculum leader for one of those sites and love working with the dedicated and supportive staff. The senior team at The Quay School have supported my progression from teacher to middle leader and last year I achieved my NPQML professional qualifications. “I have worked at The Quay School for eight years and almost every year has offered a new challenge! I started working in the service as a teaching assistant, moving onto a learning mentor role after a year. Supporting students and helping them achieve is something I have always loved doing, and so this naturally led into becoming an outreach worker, working with many children across Poole who are struggling at school. Last year I completed my PGCE with the Quay School as my main placement. I am now completeing my NQT year and loving every minute. I have also given the opportunity to study for an MA, which I am two-thirds of the way through. Working here, you definitely don’t get the chance to grown stagnant.”
