Being in the Trust
Our mission is to create a cooperative partnership of schools working together to ensure that we get the best possible outcomes for every pupil, whatever their age, ability or need. We also want the best outcomes for our staff, with the opportunity to grow through high quality professional development, collaborative working and the sharing of evidenced informed practice. Most importantly, we want to achieve this mission whilst maintaining the highest levels of wellbeing for our staff and pupils.
Our schools, and the staff who work in them, are the heart of our Trust. It is the staff that enable young people to be happy, successful and able to make positive choices about their futures. The central services of the Trust, including the CEO and trustees, are there to enable our schools to carry out their work and to help shape and lead our collective direction.
We want every school in the Trust to retain its own unique ethos and identity whilst also benefiting from the broader skills, expertise and career development opportunities that being part of a MAT can offer. Our governance structure reflects this – every school has a Local Governing Body (LGB) comprising people with the skills, experience and enthusiasm to provide a high standard of support and challenge for the Headteacher. Our Scheme of Delegation ensures that LGBs are responsible, along with the Headteacher, for the majority of decisions about running the school, including staffing and finance. We call this ‘accountable autonomy’. We believe that with high quality governance and leadership, our schools are able to achieve the best outcomes for everyone.
