Trust Structure
Multi Academy Trusts (MATs) exist to provide a structure for schools to collaborate and in turn become more effective at what they do. Our MAT structure is designed to give our schools a high degree of autonomy, and in practice this means that most of the decision making, including staffing and finance, is devolved to Headteachers and their Local Governing Bodies (LGBs). We believe these are the people who understand their schools best, have the most accurate and up-to-date information, and are therefore best placed to make good decisions.
By having a structure based on devolved autonomy, we keep our Trust central services as lean as possible. Trust staff are there to provide support and challenge to Headteachers, so that they can lead their schools to provide outstanding education for pupils, and high quality employment for staff.
